What have I built?

  1. Redub

    Mar 2026

Redub is a website that translates videos—both audio and video—into different languages. Upload a video of yourself speaking, choose a language, and watch yourself speak fluently in that language. We achieved 66% lower compute cost compared to industry leaders like HeyGen for similar tasks by leveraging Modal's scale-to-zero architecture.

Tools: React, FastAPI, Modal, OpenAI Whisper large-v3, Groq API, LLaMA 3.3 70B, Coqui XTTS v2, LatentSync, FFmpeg, Cloudflare R2

  2. Protein Function Prediction Optimization

    Feb 2025 - Aug 2025

As part of the KiharaLab's efforts, I optimized protein function prediction models, enabling 4x faster sequence alignment queries. This tool is used by clinical researchers as one of the official protein function prediction tools of the KiharaLab Bioinformatics Suite.

    Tools: Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell

  3. Ember

    Feb 2026

Ember is a tool for people affected by natural disasters. It lets people create their own “Embers”—decentralized resource distribution locations. When dedicated humanitarian aid services fail, Ember facilitates neighbors helping each other.

Tools: Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Alembic, Jinja2, WTForms, Leaflet, PMTiles, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript

  4. Spotify Playlist Curator

    Feb 2025

Spotify Playlist Curator lets you filter a given playlist using natural language. Using a custom zero-shot model (no LLM!), we reduce natural language to real song metrics and filter accordingly. Spotify actually shipped this as a feature 3 months after we built the prototype.

Tools: FastAPI, Spotify API, Next.js, React, custom Zero-Shot model
